2022 Men Of The Green Machine – AJ Patterson

Please welcome back A.J. Patterson to the 2022 Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps!

AJ started playing the tuba in 6 th grade. About as soon as he started playing DCI was part of his life. He watched online, had watching parties at the house, and loved everything about DCI. One of his buddies, Tyler Mosley who was an upper classman from Hebron High School marched with the Cavaliers. When
DCI performed in San Antonio that summer, we were on vacation so we spent one day at the Alamodome so we could watch the Cavaliers and Tyler in person. AJ was all in!

AJ tried out for the Cavaliers and only the Cavaliers! AJ’s 1 st year (summer before his senior year of high school) unfortunately was cut short before it really started due to Covid. While it was disappointing AJ knew that the Cavaliers was the place to be for him just after going through tryouts and a couple of camps. This summer will be AJ’s 3rd season with the Cavilers.

AJ is starting his sophomore year at Texas Tech University. He is an architect major and knew from as early as 7 th grade where he wanted to go to college and what he wanted to major in. AJ marches in the TTU Goin’ Band from Raiderland band. So as soon as finals are over, he heads straight back to Lubbock to prepare for their 2022-2023 season. AJ loves all things sports. He loves to watch, he loves to talk about, and he loves to debate and dream all the what ifs that come along with any sport imaginable.

Welcome back, AJ!
