It’s Freaking Show Day!

It’s been a LONG uncertain period of almost 2 years…but here it is! Show Day!

I’m hanging out in a vantage point where I can see the guard work, listen to the battery and percussion work, AND see and hear the hornline in the near distance. All doing their thing to be better than they were yesterday.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think these kids give one flip that there will be no judges this season. Their reward is in the performing and electrifying a crowd, not a number.

Just heard the whole brass section sing the opening to “Kissed By A Rose”…. Holy smokes, if there’s a men’s concert choir competitive circuit out there, they should enter.

Meanwhile battery and pit are tightening the “Sing, Sing, Sing” closer.

The guard instructor just announced over his megaphone that guard was going to run a section through 15 reps, which they just started.

Yeah, don’t think for a second these men need judges to work their butts off to hone their craft.

Gotta report back to Cook Trailer at 11:45 for spaghetti prep. But will see every second of full ensemble I can before then.

And finally and selfishly… can’t wait to see this guy fulfill a childhood dream tonight when he and Joey salute our corps onto the field!

More later!
