Please welcome Andrew Groover, 1st year Tuba, to the 2022 Cavaliers!
Andrew learned about DCI from his years in the Walton High School Marching Raider band in Marietta, GA. He marched sousaphone, and was section leader. He’s loved marching from the very first grueling band camp in the middle of a scorching Georgia summer, and has not looked back. He’s devoured all things DCI (videos, articles, blogs, etc.) and knew that the Cavaliers was his dream corp. His first step toward that was DCA, when he was contracted for 2020 and actually was able to march the 2021 season with Atlanta CV. He is beyond excited to be marching with the 2022 Cavaliers.
He loves spending time with friends, classic metal music, and reading up on history, music theory, and current events. He will stop and pet every single dog he meets. He loves helping people learn, and has considered teaching. He has an identical twin brother who is also marching tuba in DCI this year – Andrew helped him learn to play brass/tuba in preparation for auditions.
He heads off to UGA in the Fall as a freshman, and will be marching with the Redcoats (Go Dawgs!)
