Please welcome back Devin Hairston, 2nd year Color Guard, to the 2022 Cavaliers!
Devin joined the high school marching band as an 8th grade on the bass drum. While on breaks during practice times, Devin would mess around with the color guard learning to spin. From there on out, color guard became his passion. He learned about DCI from his grandpa, Cavaliers Alumni, Randy Borror.
When he was 14, he sent in a video audition to the Seattle Cascades the week before move ins and received a contract. The next week, we flew him to Seattle and he had the opportunity to learn, grow, and travel across the country.
Devin’s dream corps has been the Cavaliers since taking an interest in color guard. He auditioned at the age of 15 and received a call back. Then COVID!
This will be Devin’s 3rd season in DCI and his 2nd year with The Cavaliers at the age of 17.
Devin is highly passionate about color guard, constantly practicing, practicing, practicing. The neighbors get to enjoy his show frequently. He has even inspired one of the neighbor kids to join another High School Color Guard. Devin was also a member of his high school varsity cheer squad during this past year. He is also involved in Theater / Drama at his school and is tasked with Choreography of the larger productions put on at the high school. Devin also spends hours writing music, and designing shows on his computer.
